AGOURELAIO Young and perfect olive oil A special drop entirely for our olive oil lovers ! The more unripe our native Athinolia olives are harvested, the more ripe and fruity the extracted olive oil will be. In elaborate manual work we harvest the olives gently on our olive grove in Elika, Lakonia already from mid-October […]
In the laconic Mani, the barren sun-drenched landscape of southern Greece, grows our native variety Athinolia. It contains a high-quality proportion of polyphenols. For our dear customers, who have a large family and therefore consume more olive oil every day, we have for the first time these 3 liter olive oil canisters in stock. The oil consists of 100% Athinolia olives, some of which are still green. They were harvested in October and immediately cold extracted. The olive oil is intensely fruity, and you will feel as if you have let an olive melt in your mouth. The green colour of the Athinolia olives changes later to golden green.

Concentrated grape molasses (Black Muscat). This grape variety comes from Giorgos Mazo's private vineyards with organic farming. Immediately after the grape harvest, the process of concentrating the must begins in empty air at low temperatures. The result of this process gives a wonderful petimezi with fruity aroma and delicate taste. It is an excellent source of iron, calcium, vitamins, antioxidants and extremely rich in energy. Try it while cooking to marinate the meat, in sweets as a natural, healthy sweetener or add it to your cereal! The presence of sediment at bottom of the bottle is completely normal. It may contain traces of natural sulfites. Certified by DIO according to the Reg (EU) 834/2007.
Corona Honey
This slightly different honey - made from arbutus tree- delights with its absolutely unique taste. Its extraordinary, distinctive character with a slightly bitter aftertaste is a real delicacy, especially for honey lovers. Whether on bread or with cheese - the tart, intense aroma makes this high-quality specialty unforgettable. Our arbutus tree honey is pure, filtered and of course without sugar or bee boost chemicals. Nikolaos Zachos is our beekeeper, who takes care of his bees and honey with great passion.
Interesting facts, origin and extraction
The arbutus tree is a bit misleading as it can remind us of the classic strawberry tree. However, only in the shape and color the arbutus tree resembles the strawberry tree. Since arbutus trees only bloom when most of the bees are already in hibernation, the harvest is often small. These properties makes the honey from the arbutus tree honey a real rarity.
